Welcome to Picadilly & Company
Picadilly & Company, creating home decor knick knacks one party at a time. We provide you and your guests a fun evening creating a home decor items while in your home. It's a great venue for a Girls Night Out, family get together, etc. However, before we can create them in your home, I create them for my home. And there are some things I do, that I just cannot bring to someone's home. So, check out what I'm working on, maybe it will inspire you. Currently I am preparing for our holiday homes tour. I will begin decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. In the meantime I am creating different projects to decorate with. So, the ideas I am sharing do not show the final stage often due to that. In December I will post pictures of the final outcome. Thanks for stopping by. And please, check out the website above!

I Heart Burlap
Wow! It has been awhile since I posted. Getting in the swing of routine again after the holidays took some time. I have done a few simple crafts lately and thought I'd share them with ya the next few days.
I have developed a love for burlap as have others in the Pinterest and blog land. My sister-in-law called and said she had boxes of craft stuff if I wanted it. It was a hard decision...YES!
In it I found a wire frame heart. I decided to make a simple burlap heart wreath for Valentine's Day with it. I have this burlap ribbon from Michaels. And I have a few keys from Michaels too. So, I decided to tie them all together.

Branching Out.
Love, Love, Love what I did today and it was free and soooooo easy.
I simply got Christmas tree branches from a local store that trims the bottoms off for customers. They are FREE! I put them in a glass cookie jar I have. I was going to tie a burlap bow around it and be done. Then, I had another idea. I used scrap burlap I had and hot glued a burlap message around it instead. I created my own stencil for the lettering. You can see how to do that here: http://picadillyandcompany.blogspot.com/2011/10/welcoming-in-fall-harvest.html
I stenciled the word 'tree'. I do find it difficult to stencil this way with small letters and therefore decided to make a tag. I simply made from the computer saying "Oh Christmas".
I REALLY like the simplicity and impact of it. And since we don't have 'real' trees, the branches add an evergreen scent in our home.

Jingle All the Way!
For this project I used a $1.99 shadow box I got from the Goodwill. I took the foam core backing off and covered in with burlap. I attached the burlap with spray glue. I then simply took two bells and put them on each end of twine about 24" long. I tied the twine around the backing and positioned where I thought it would look good. I assembled the frame back together. The bells barely fit between the backing and the glass. So that is important to check out with your shadow box. I then topped it off with vinyl lettering on top of the glass.
Very simple.
